What is also true is that by the time you reach this article that you've probably given up hope of ever find a solution to your problem and really I can't blame you.
Let me first tell you a couple of things - I'm not going to lie to you, I have never suffered from panic attacks. I have though lived with someone who used to struggle daily with the fear of a panic attack and so I know what it's like from the other side.
The next thing I'm going to tell you is that the only I advice I can give you is that it is the fear of the panic attacks that you fear most of all.
You fear:
- Feeling as though you're having a heart attack!
- The tightening in your chest!
- That you might go insane and lose it big time!
- Being in rooms and spaces that you feel have you hemmed in!
- You won't be able to cope with normal situations and you'll end up making a fool of yourself at the worse possible time!
- Any situation that you cannot control!
Well the truth is none of that fear is going to go away! No breathing exercises, focusing on something else or trying to be positive and look on the bright side! Won't work!
What my partner and I both know, and you too, is that living with the fear of a panic attack is no fun and the effect on your life is ugly and serious.
